# Step 1: Create a Developer Account

Before you can create or publish a Marketplace app, you need access to the [**Marketplace Developer Portal**](https://marketplace.gohighlevel.com/). This is where you manage your apps, team access, OAuth settings, and submission workflow.

Here’s how to create your Developer Account:

- Go to the [HighLevel App Marketplace](https://marketplace.gohighlevel.com/)
- Click **Sign Up** to create a developer account.
- Fill in the Sign Up form with the details requested.
- Verify your Phone Number.
- Click Get Started to create your account.
- Check your inbox for the verification email and complete email verification.

### Ownership and team access (important)

- The **first user** who signs up becomes the **Owner** of the developer account.
- There can be **only one Owner**.
- If you need multiple people to access the Developer Portal, add them as users (recommended) instead of sharing credentials.
